The long-term consequences of a SARS-CoV-2 infection include easy or rapid fatigability, fatigue (chronic fatigue), headaches and attention deficits/difficulty concentrating.
These symptoms are associated with increased psychological stress and a severe impairment in the quality of life of those affected.
The number of patients who have persistent symptoms after approximately 6 months of a SARS-CoV-2 infection is approximately 30%.
The most frequently mentioned symptoms include, among other things, pronounced symptoms of exhaustion.This app offers adapted and guided strength, endurance and breathing training as well as relaxation exercises for patients with persistent symptoms after a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Users have the option of performing aerobic endurance training 3 times per week (35 min per training unit) and moderate strength training of large muscle groups twice per week (30 min per training unit).
In addition, breathing training (15-20 minutes per training session) and auditory-guided progressive muscle relaxation (15-20 minutes) are offered.
The endurance training is carried out “outdoor” as walking.
Strength training is carried out using your own body weight.
The training units are instructed through videos.
Before and after the training, users are asked about their daily well-being (SAM scale, acute stress).The overarching goal of using the app is to increase the subjective well-being of patients.
This should be achieved by increasing the quality of life, improving the quality of sleep and alleviating depressive moods.
Through guided training, cardiopulmonary performance, maximum strength and strength endurance are improved and, as a result, well-being and fitness levels are optimized.
